In addition, choose and perform one of the ways to contribute to the New Evangelization before our meeting on the 21st.

Have a blessed week!

Six-Week Lenten Study at St. Athanasius for Women

Standard

“Walk in Her Sandals: Experiencing Christ’s Passion through the Eyes of Women”

by Kelly M. Wahlquist (Editor)

What if you could have been a witness to the events of the last days of Jesus’ life—walking with him as he entered Jerusalem, observing his crucifixion, and embracing him on Easter?

  • This is a group book study where you are guided on a prayerful and creative journey through the days of Holy Week, Easter, and Pentecost.
  • Go deeper into your relationship with Jesus by relating to him in a profoundly intimate way. See Jesus’ Passion through the eyes of six women who each expressed one of six, distinctive, feminine gifts identified in the writings of St. John Paul II. Their imagined stories are complemented by the real accounts of contemporary women who share their own stories of receiving and cultivating these gifts.
  • Share with other women who are also on this journey/study with you. Athanasius Church is providing two opportunities for women to participate in group discussions …

SIS “Walking with Purpose” Session Two

Standard

Ladies,

For the next “Walking With Purpose” book study, on Thursday, September 27th, please read “Section Two” and “Priority One” which entails reading pages #29-67. In addition, please answer the Session Two questions in your packet.

Remember to also work on your “Concrete Resolution” from Session 1. For example, if you stated that you want to work on praying every morning, try making steps towards making that resolution stick. You might print off a morning prayer to have by your bedside so that it is there for you to read first thing in the morning. Or, you might try setting up a quiet spot in your home for you to sit for contemplative and/or rote prayer at a set time every day.

Your friend in Christ,

Angie

INVITATION TO CONSECRATE OUR PARISH TO OUR BLESSED MOTHER

Standard

Hi ladies,

Our formation committee would like to invite all of you to join us in consecrating our parish to Our Blessed Mother in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima.
Please see below.

INVITATION TO CONSECRATE OUR PARISH TO OUR BLESSED MOTHER

In celebrating the upcoming 100th Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima, I want to invite you
to participate in A Do-It-Yourself Retreat, leading you to the Heart of Jesus through Mary.

Using the book 33 Days to Morning Glory, by Fr. Michael Gaitley, you will easily be guided thru the best Marian teachings of St Louis de Montfort, St Maximilian Kolbe, St. Teresa of Calcutta and St Pope John Paul II.  This book is presented simply, clearly and in a conversational style, therefore easy to read.

In our days when spiritual stakes have never been higher, many have said that their lives were not the same after this consecration.

We will begin on September 10, and end with the Consecration on October 13, 2017,the 100th Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima.

This book can be accessed online on our parish subscription to FORMED.  We also have available books in the back of Church in the display, for a $5.00 donation.

This retreat may be the best spiritual exercise you have ever done for yourself, your family, your parish and our world.   May God bless.

Feel free to share!

Your companion in service,

Debbie Green
