September 15th Meeting Recap

Standard

On Monday, we had another wonderful and educational meeting.  Sue Brodfehrer, the Director of the Family Ministries Office, presented “Love Languages in your Family.”  She discussed the five languages of love:

  1. Words of Affirmation
  2. Quality Time
  3. Receiving Gifts
  4. Acts of Service
  5. Physical Touch

The members of the SIS group present at the meeting took an individual “Love Languages Personal Profile” to help determine their primary love language.  Due to copyright provisions, we cannot attach this profile to our website.  However, to receive a copy, please email us at stasistersinspirit@gmail.com and we can forward a copy to you.  You can take the test yourself, or give it to someone else (i.e. your husband, friend, child, etc).

Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 20th.  It will be a “Craft, Puzzle, and Prayer” night.  For those who choose to do so can work on holiday crafts.  Other options will be to work on puzzles and other fun activities.  Children who would normally go to childcare during the meeting can attend this meeting to participate.  More information to follow in future updates.

August 25th Meeting Recap

Standard

We had a wonderful meeting on Monday. Debbie Minton presented “Celebrate What’s Right With the World” by Dewitt Jones. It is a wonderful film! It helps you look at the world in a wonderful way to help you celebrate, and see, what is good. If you missed it or if you just want to share it or see it again, it can be viewed at http://www.trainingabc.com/celebrate-whats-right-with-the-world.

After we viewed the film, we discussed the following questions in small groups, then with the whole group:

  1. What changes do we see happening in our parish?
  2. What abundances do we have and how can we use them to enhance our lives?
  3. What possibilities are there to celebrate?
  4. What changes are happening our own life?
  5. What needs fixing?  How can we use our positive energy to change things?
  6. How do we become our best for ourselves, our parish community, and our world?
