Women’s Retreat and Easter Egg Hunt – Request for Feedback

Standard

Here’s a request for some help:   Ladies, we need some feedback.  St. Athanasius will be holding a Women’s Retreat on Saturday, March 28th from 8:45AM to 3:00PM.  The problem is that on that same day, the St. Athanasius Booster Club is having an Easter Egg Hunt (from 11AM to about noon), followed by lunch and games (from about noon to 1:00PM).

For those of you who would be interested in the Women’s Retreat, does the Easter Egg Hunt make it hard for you to come to the retreat?  I know for me, with this being the first time we’ve had an Easter Egg Hunt at St. A’s, I am really torn between the two even though I am on the leadership team for the Women’s Retreat.  As a mom, and with this being a memorable occasion, it would be hard for me to miss my children participating in the hunt.

This is where we need your help.  The Women’s Retreat leadership team needs a head count of how many people are affected by this, so that we can adjust the retreat agenda as necessary to help those of us women who want to participate in both activities.  For instance, we can have the “singing” portion of the retreat during the Easter Egg Hunt part, so that women can leave the retreat and go to the hunt and then come back later and not feel like they missed out on any of the main spiritual aspects of the retreat.  That’s at least one idea.  Our team is coming up with others.

We’re sorry that this conflict occurred.  We’d appreciate hearing back from you.  Thank you!

Our annual parish women’s retreat is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 8:45-3:00 PM. Our theme this year is Like Jesus and includes Mass at 9:00 AM. The retreat will be led by Karen Purnell and all women 12 and older are welcome. There is a $12 fee for the retreat, which includes lunch. Registration forms are available in the back of Church or by downloading the following PDF form: Like Jesus Flyer

  1. Good news ladies! Karen has come up with a solution to the Women’s Retreat vs. Egg Hunt conflict. Of course, you will still need to have someone watch the kids prior to and after Egg Hunt. For ladies interested in attending the Easter Egg hunt with their children or grandchildren, it WILL NOT be a problem for you to leave the retreat at 10:50 and return for lunch at noon. What you will miss is our annual sing-along in Church and one 20 minute talk. The bulk of the material in that talk will be covered on handouts you can get when you rejoin us during lunch. So, if you were “on-the-fence” on whether or not to attend the Retreat versus the Egg Hunt, please be assured that you CAN do both.

  2. Is this conflict going to cause a parking problem perhaps? Where is the Easter Egg Hunt going to take place? —-Nancy
